Environnement

ROCES skater community is more than action, tricks, art, performance and entertainment. It’s a global culture that connects people from all over the world. It has the core values of community, respect, support and the recognition of excellence. Sometimes it’s an urban rebellion but is always aware of the sports evolution and committed to respect the environment.

The ROCES skater community deserves all our commitment, aimed at improving and supporting this sustainable development.

So, what are we doing?

Green Core Collection

A speed change.

We have always been driven by a constant attention to the choice of materials and our sensitivity to environmental impact. Now more than ever this is engine that drives our strategy: combining innovation with eco-sustainability, without sacrificing design and high performance.

The issue about plastic, once the embodiment of modernity, innovation, safety and design, involves packaging and product life cycle, which are our strengths. In fact, when Roces invented the extendable skate in 1994 or the extendable ski boot in 2006, it had in mind a longer life cycle and a lower environmental impact. Just think of all customers, who with the longer life span of their skates, only occasionally needing to replace some parts, and of the reduction of carton packaging.

Ranked by nature

Ranked by Nature.

With this catalogue we aim to offer a clear idea of two parameters: the level of recyclability of our in-line skates and the level of recycled materials used to build each model.
In the history of Roces there are fundamental skates that represent our green mission. This is the case of M12 in the classic black colour, which has always been made with 97% recycled plastic materials.

Mind Your Step“Every new day starts with one step…And every day ends with our footprints.”
From Bangkok through the lush Thai jungles to the southern beaches of Krabi. With “Mind your Step” Nils Jansons, an icon of the aggressive international scene, guides us along his journey to Thailand.
To live and promote a conscious approach with nature. Sensitivity, attention and ethical commitment are the basis of this project that Nils supports. A project that encourages us to make sustainable choices for our planet and for the future.
Make the difference… Mind your step!

Black is Roces' New Green

Our product program gets a special boost inspired by the Triple R’s of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Reduction of waste with packaging optimization, reuse of materials for lining, liners, shells, gradual introduction of recycled materials in all the product lines.

GO DIGITAL REDUCE PAPER & SAVE TREES

GO DIGITAL REDUCE PAPER & SAVE TREES

In order to reduce paper consumption, Roces has progressively introduced, whenever possible the digital version of the product manual, which can be downloaded as a PDF file.
Customer can look for updated manuals for their product category at roces.com/it/manuals or simply scanning the following QR code. A graphic instruction has been added to product packaging.
CE products still come with paper manual due to the fact that dematerialization is still not allowed.

LOW IMPACT & ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCT PACKAGING

LOW IMPACT & ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCT PACKAGING

Aggressive product packaging is plastic-free. Boxes are made of havana cardboard (no plastic film coating) which leads to low ink consumption. Polybags protecting skates are made of recycled PE. Ecological product manuals. Every effort has been taken to create a more sustainable and frustration-free product packaging.

Black is new green

All Colors Melt in Black

As people can see from the green core index indicators of our latest catalogues, black polypropylene/polyurethane shells show a higher recycled material index compared to the white ones (this is why for example M12 UFS in black can be considered 97% from recycled materials since day one).
Taking this in to consideration and looking at recent market trends, you will discover that we are offering black-based colorways more and more.

In other words, black is the new green.
